Three-Bean Turkey Chili

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 can (28 ounces) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (about 15 ounces) chickpeas, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (about 15 ounces) kidney beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (about 15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (4 ounces) diced mild green chiles
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons chili powder

Directions

  1. Place turkey and onion in medium skillet over medium-high heat; cook and stir until turkey is browned. Drain fat. Transfer to CROCK-POT slow cooker.
  2. Add tomatoes, chickpeas, beans, tomato sauce, chiles and chili powder to CROCK-POT slow cooker; mix well. Cover; cook on HIGH 6 to 8 hours.

Notes

  1. for instant pot pressure cooker on high for 18 minites or use chili button. natural release for 5 min, then you may quick release. you can saute the turkey in the instant pot directly and drain fat from there.
